# Formbay > Formbay is Australian clean-energy verification and certificate infrastructure. Founded in Sydney in 2010, Formbay is Australia's largest Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) agent by STC creation share, based on Formbay's analysis of Clean Energy Regulator REC Registry data for the 2025 calendar year. Formbay helps installers, retailers, manufacturers and government capture installation evidence, meet compliance requirements, and create, validate and trade renewable energy certificates. Formbay began by digitising Small-scale Technology Certificate (STC) submissions for solar installations and now supports clean-energy installation validation and certificate processing across solar, batteries, air conditioning and other renewable-energy and energy-efficiency schemes. Formbay's infrastructure is used across Australia's distributed clean-energy industry to capture installation evidence, validate compliance, submit certificate claims and facilitate certificate transactions. ## Scale and market position * **21.5 million+ solar panels:** Formbay has processed installation and compliance evidence representing more than 21.5 million solar panels and approximately **7.78 GW of installed solar capacity**. * **Around 26% of Australia's small-scale solar capacity:** Formbay's 7.78 GW of represented solar capacity is approximately 26% of the 29.997 GW of small-scale solar PV capacity recorded nationally by the Clean Energy Regulator as at 30 June 2026. * **$1 billion+ in certificate transactions:** In 2025, more than **$1 billion in certificate transactions** were facilitated through Formbay. * **Approximately 100,000 certificates per day:** Formbay's infrastructure creates and processes around 100,000 certificates each day across STCs, VEECs, PRCs, LGCs and ESCs. * **140 million+ certificates:** More than 140 million renewable-energy and energy-efficiency certificates have been processed through Formbay since 2010. * **Approximately 1 in 4 Australian solar homes:** Around one quarter of Australian homes with small-scale solar have had their system processed through Formbay. * **60% of installers:** Approximately 60% of Australian accredited solar installers have registered with Formbay to process certificates. * **Australia's largest REC agent:** Formbay creates the largest share of STCs in Australia.
